The Plot

Everything old is new again.

Japan is in an uproar, the mysterious force know as Kira has come to claim their criminals, their malcontents, their rotten. While the Japanese police can do little, Kira's influence spreads out across the globe, eventually attracting the attention of the FBI who are also claimed by Kira's power. In the middle of all this is a single figure, Yagami Light, an honours student, teenage hearthrob and young genius to boot, but Yagami Light is much more than he seems, simply because Yagami Light is Kira.

While Light brings justice to a world he seeks to reshape with the powers granted to him by Ryuk, the shinigami who gifted him with the notebook which is capable of killing anyone whose name is written in it he attracts the attention of other, more professional law enforcment. Frightened by the power of Kira the leaders of the world have played their trump card, L. A genius himself in his own right and with the full backing of the Japanese government, L observes the situation, the death toll, how it has spread out from a certain point and he deduces the point at which the disturbances began. Now the two sides are about to collide, a radiant clash of blades, or a stealthy war of endurance and underhanded deeds? Maybe both? But what if, what if, that's not all there is to it?

Consider this an AU of Death Note the series. While all the characters of Death Note exist, the events of the Death Note anime/manga never happened. And thus, it is here that your own adventure starts.
